False Positive Bumpits Sighting – Joe Dirt

by bumpits on Aug.04, 2009, under False Positives

Although the rumors are prevalant and persistent, Joe Dirt did not rock a bop, bump a pony, or wear Bumpits.

For the uncultured among us, “Joe Dirt” is a cinematic masterpiece which made the world a better place in the year of our Lord, 2001. Starring David Spade, pictured above, with one of the best mullets in film history, “Joe Dirt” chronicles the trials of an oil weller on his search to find his parents who abandoned him as a baby. Although Mr. Dirt’s impressive hair appears both Big and Happy, his mighty mullet cannot be attributed to Bumpits, unfortunately.

Bumpits did not come out til something like 2006 or 2007, so Joe Dirt obviously falls well inside the category of a Bumpits Sightings False Positive.

No need to thank me. This is what I do. This is why I’m here.

Not All Big Hair is Bumpits Induced – Introducing False-Positives

by bumpits on Jun.14, 2009, under False Positives

Now that BumpitSightings.com exists, there are a few humorous submissions rolling in. These jokers think they can fool me with what will from this day forward be known as ‘False-Positives’…these are Big Hair Sightings, which Bumpits cannot take credit (or blame) for.

What better Big Hair Sighting to start the False-Positives series with than this gem from a little flick called Battlefield Earth?

John Travolta, as Terl, in Battlefield Earth, with a pensive Barry Pepper looking on with decidedly flat hair.

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times – Battlefield Earth is Barry Pepper’s Braveheart. Not 61. Not Knockaround Guys. Not 3: The Dale Earnhardt Story. And although there are multiple Big Hair Sightings in Battlefield Earth, this stellar flick with a magnificent 2.3 rating on IMDB was released (foisted) in the year of our Lord, 2000. Bumpits came much later…like late last year. So I have no other choice than to file this submission under the newly minted False Positives category.

Nice try, and please keep them coming. This is what I’m here for.
